Encore Funding Names Matthew Williams Vice President

Williams to oversee day-to-day operations for the recently launched private lending brand

Encore Funding, a Cleveland-based private lending brand launched by entrepreneur Joel Adelman, has named Matthew Williams as Vice President. In this role, Williams will oversee and manage the firm’s day-to-day operations.

A lawyer by trade with a J.D. from the University of Dayton Law School, Williams previously served as General Counsel for Roundstone Insurance, an organization dedicated to helping mid-market employers control rising health care costs. He also spent nearly seven years as Corporate Counsel at Advance Partners (purchased by Paychex in 2015) where he worked closely alongside Joel Adelman, the firm’s former CEO and founder.

Over the course of his career, Williams has worked in entrepreneurial environments that provided him with broad exposure to various facets of each business. While his primary role was in-house counsel, he developed skillsets within the areas of business development, risk assessment, deal negotiations and more.

“As we launch and grow Encore Funding in the coming months, Matthew’s legal expertise, business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit make him an ideal leader for this organization,” said Adelman.

Adelman founded Encore with a mission of helping other entrepreneurs succeed. In addition to providing customized, alternative lending solutions, Encore offers businesses resources and networking support. They also receive access to an experienced executive team, including Adelman and Williams, that has delivered in excess of $15 billion in funding to entrepreneurs.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Joel again. He brings a clear vision and proven track record of success to the small business landscape,” said Williams. “We have a history of helping fellow entrepreneurs achieve their idea of success, whatever that may be. And that’s exactly what we plan to keep doing together.”
